Rotarians Honoured

In the evening of January 19th, seven members of the Vancouver Centennial Club were certified Charter Members of the Paul Harris Society of District 5040 by Governor Kevin Conway during the PolioPlus Celebration Dinner.The Centennial Club will have eight out of about 50 Charter Members in total for the District by the end of this month.

 The key-note speaker for the PolioPlus Dinner was Dr. Robert Scott, who summarized Rotary's work in the eradication of polio. Once again, he re-enforced the belief of most Rotarians that polio can be eradicated.

On Tuesday night, January 23rd, President Hsu presented Paul Harris Fellow certificates to three more members.  Congrulations. The Tuesday night meeting was highlighted by a presentation by Mr. S.Y. So of Taipei Economics and Cultural Office on the topics of Crisis Management and Media Relationship. He reviewed the fine lines between the freedom of press/news, and political correctness.
